On Friday, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that all such vehicles will be canceled which are 15 years old. The policy related to this has been sent to all the state governments. He said these things during the inauguration of a program in Nagpur. According to Gadkari, the state government should implement this decision of the central government at its own level.

Explain that the Center is committed to removing vehicles older than 15 years under its Motor Vehicle Scrap Policy. The Transport Ministry has been working on this policy for a long time.

National Vehicle Scrap Policy was started last year
Actually, Gadkari had come to inaugurate the Annual Agriculture Exhibition (Agro-Vision) organized in Nagpur. Addressing the gathering, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the National Vehicle Scrap Policy in August last year. The PM had said that this policy would help in phase-wise phasing out of old and polluting vehicles.

Plan to open 3 junk centers in every district of the country
Recently, Gadkari had told that the government has planned to open at least three registered vehicle scrap centers in every district of the country. He said that the Road Ministry has received 206 proposals for ropeways, cable cars and funicular railways (cable railways). And the government can open up to three registered vehicle scrapping facilities or centers in every district.

What is scrap policy

Heavy fines will be imposed on driving vehicles that do not pass this test. Also, such vehicles will be confiscated under the scrappage policy.
