PM Modi Chairs Meeting with CMs to Review Preparedness Amid West Asia Crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with Chief Ministers across the country to assess India’s preparedness in light of the evolving situation in West Asia. The meeting focused on ensuring stability in essential sectors and maintaining seamless coordination between the Centre and States.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that by working together as “Team India,” the country will effectively navigate the challenges arising from global uncertainties. He underlined the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding national interests.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s key priorities:

Maintaining economic and trade stability

Ensuring uninterrupted energy supply

Safeguarding the interests of citizens
Strengthening industrial output and supply chains

He stressed that proactive governance is essential to mitigate any potential disruptions caused by the international situation.

PM Modi urged all States to:

Ensure smooth functioning of supply chains

Take strict action against hoarding and profiteering

Maintain adequate availability of essential commodities

He emphasised that any artificial shortage must be dealt with firmly to protect consumers.

Special attention was given to the agriculture sector, with the Prime Minister calling for:

Advance planning for upcoming agricultural cycles

Close monitoring of fertiliser storage and distribution

This, he noted, is crucial to avoid supply bottlenecks that could impact farmers.

The Prime Minister directed States with borders and coastal areas to remain vigilant, particularly regarding:

Shipping operations

Maritime logistics

Supply of essential goods

He highlighted the need for preparedness to address emerging challenges in these regions.

PM Modi cautioned against the spread of misinformation and rumours during the crisis. He stressed the importance of:
Disseminating accurate and credible information

Ensuring public confidence through transparent communication

Chief Ministers appreciated the steps taken by the Central

Government, including:
Reduction in excise duty on fuel

Increased allocation of commercial LPG to States

They noted that petrol, diesel, and LPG supplies remain stable across their respective regions.
States Assure Full Cooperation

The Chief Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the Centre. They expressed confidence that with coordinated efforts, India will continue to manage the situation effectively despite global uncertainties.
