Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday described his roadshow in Thrissur as “memorable” as he kickstarted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA)’s campaign for the upcoming Keralam Assembly Elections 2026.
The Prime Minister held a grand roadshow in Thrissur, followed by a public rally in Palakkad, marking the beginning of an aggressive election push in the state.

During his address, Modi launched a sharp attack on both the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the United Democratic Front (UDF), accusing them of “looting” Keralam
for decades through a tacit power-sharing arrangement.
“The LDF and UDF have looted Keralam for decades by sharing the spoils. There has been an understanding between them—one governs and fills their pockets, then the other takes over to do the same,” the Prime Minister said.
He further alleged that both alliances have misled the people and are now engaging in political propaganda by calling each other the BJP’s “B-team.”
“In this election, if there is any ‘A team’, it is only the BJP,” Modi asserted.
Highlighting national political alignments, Modi pointed out that the Congress and Left parties are allies in several states under the INDI Alliance, despite their rivalry in Keralam. He urged voters to remain cautious of both parties.
The Keralam Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in a single phase on April 9, with vote counting set for May 4. While the LDF and UDF remain the primary contenders, the BJP is aiming to expand its footprint in the state following its recent electoral gains in local body polls.
