In a series of candid remarks, the President expressed deep disappointment in the alliance, claiming that their lack of early support during the current conflict has left a “mark on NATO that will never disappear.”
The President took particular aim at the UK, dismissing their two flagship aircraft carriers—HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales—as “old, broken,” and little more than “toys” compared to the U.S. fleet. Trump alleged that when he initially sought assistance, British officials preferred to “wait until you win,” an offer he flatly rejected.
