Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, accusing its leadership of spreading “fabricated documents” and misleading the public through senior leader Pawan Khera.
Taking to social media, Sarma alleged that Congress leaders are acting out of desperation and are pushing Khera “towards jail with their own actions.” He further claimed that the documents recently circulated by the party had already been exposed as false by his team.
“This is not politics anymore. This is outright deception,” Sarma stated, intensifying the political rhetoric ahead of the crucial Assam elections.
The Chief Minister also said that the Congress ecosystem has “lost all sense of responsibility” and expressed confidence that voters would deliver a strong response. “In just a few hours, the people of Assam will give a fitting reply — and the Congress leadership will pay the price for this deceit,” he added.
The remarks come amid escalating tensions between the BJP and Congress, with both parties trading accusations as polling day approaches in Assam.
