Rahul Gandhi Targets Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Over Corruption Allegations, Backs Pawan Khera

Senior Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on Himanta Biswa Sarma, accusing him of corruption and misuse of state power in a strongly worded social media post.

The Congress leader alleged that the Assam Chief Minister is “the most corrupt in the country” and asserted that he “will not escape the law.” Gandhi further claimed that the abuse of state machinery to target political opponents and critics is a direct violation of the Constitution.

Highlighting concerns over governance, Gandhi emphasized the need for a thorough probe into the allegations. He stated that “transparency, accountability of power, and rule of law” are fundamental pillars of India’s constitutional framework and must be upheld.

Reiterating the party’s stance, Gandhi expressed solidarity with senior Congress leader Pawan Khera, stating that the party stands firmly behind him and will not be intimidated by political pressure.

The remarks come amid heightened political tensions between the ruling establishment in Assam and the opposition, with corruption and governance emerging as key flashpoints in the ongoing discourse.
