‘Salman Khan walked into a club and paid every guest’s bill, handed out free champagne bottles,’ recalls blogger

Salman Khan once walked into a nightclub past midnight on a weekday and, in a celebratory mood, decided to pay for everyone present—while also gifting free bottles of champagne, blogger Malini Agarwal recalls.

There was a phase in Salman Khan’s life when he was widely known as Bollywood’s ultimate party animal. During that era, the superstar not only dominated the box office but was also famous for his love for nightlife—and his generosity. From hosting lavish parties to spontaneously treating people around him, Salman’s larger-than-life reputation extended well beyond the screen.

Recalling one such unforgettable moment, popular blogger Malini Agarwal, aka Miss Malini, shared an anecdote from the actor’s party days, when he walked into a nightclub on a random weekday and paid the bills for every guest present. Not just that—he also handed out bottles of champagne across the venue.

Speaking on the InControversial Podcast on YouTube, Malini said the incident took place at the now-shut club China House. “It was a random Tuesday night. My friends and I were at China House and around 2:15 am, the lights suddenly came on. We assumed the club was shutting and started settling our bill,” she recalled.

“But just as we were walking out, the lights dimmed again and the music came back on. We were confused—and that’s when Salman Khan walked in,” she added.

According to Malini, the atmosphere of the club instantly transformed. “The vibe completely changed. He told the staff, ‘Take everyone’s credit cards back—I’m paying for everyone,’” she said. “And then he started handing out bottles of champagne to people.”

Malini also fondly recalled how the moment unfolded in a pre-smartphone era. “This was before smartphones. I had a small Kodak camera with me. There’s a series of pictures—us spotting him, pointing at him, him turning around looking confused, and finally us holding a champagne bottle. Today, it would’ve been a viral video. Back then, it was four very badly taken photos,” she laughed.

Salman Khan remains one of the biggest stars of Indian cinema even today, though his recent releases have struggled at the box office. Fans are now eagerly awaiting his next film, Apoorva Lakhia’s Battle of Galwan, a war drama slated for release on April 17.

After the film’s teaser was released, some viewers expressed disappointment with Salman’s look and performance. The actor addressed the criticism during an ISPL event, firmly shutting down detractors.

“Ab kisi ko lagta hai ye romantic look hai, lekin Colonel hoon bhaiya,” Salman said. “Aur ye Colonel ka look hai—jo samajhta hai ki apne team walon ko, apne jawanon ko kaise hosla dena hai.”
(Some people think this is a romantic look, but I’m a Colonel. And this is the look of a Colonel—someone who knows how to inspire his team and his soldiers.)

Letting out a soldier-like roar, he added, “Iss sab ka koi matlab nahi. Aise hi chalta aaya hai aur aise hi chalta rahega, aap sabki dua se.”
(None of this really matters. This is how it has always been, and this is how it will continue—with your blessings.)
