Union Home Minister Amit Shah shared on social media that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the continuation of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana–III with an outlay of ₹83,977 crore.

The initiative is aimed at enhancing rural connectivity by linking key infrastructure such as Gramin Agricultural Markets (GrAMs), schools, and healthcare facilities. The move is expected to significantly improve transportation access in rural areas, facilitating smoother movement of goods and people.
According to Shah, the scheme will play a crucial role in strengthening the rural economy by boosting employment opportunities and enabling better market access for farmers. Improved road connectivity is also anticipated to enhance access to education and healthcare services, contributing to overall rural development.
