Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday described his visit to Belur Math as “deeply special,” highlighting the spiritual institution’s enduring message of service, harmony, and inner strength. Sharing his thoughts on social media, the Prime Minister said the experience leaves a lasting impact on every visitor and reaffirmed the significance of Belur Math in India’s spiritual and social fabric.

Modi praised Belur Math as a shining exemplar of the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Ma Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda, saying the institution continues to inspire generations to serve humanity with devotion and compassion.

The Prime Minister also met Revered Swami Gautamananda Ji Maharaj, appreciating his efforts in social service and humanitarian work. Modi described the Ramakrishna Mission’s contribution to education, healthcare, disaster relief, and social upliftment as a living embodiment of compassion in action.
Belur Math, the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, remains a symbol of interfaith harmony, spiritual awakening, and national service. Modi’s visit comes at a time when conversations around cultural heritage and values-driven leadership continue to resonate strongly across India.
The Prime Minister’s remarks have drawn attention to the continuing relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, particularly among younger generations seeking purpose, service, and national pride.
