In a sharp political statement amid ongoing electoral developments, Abhishek Banerjee, National General Secretary of All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Member of Parliament, asserted that his party has performed strongly in the first phase of voting.
“I am not a political astrologer. Whenever I have made predictions on political results, it has clicked. In the first phase, we have hit a century,” Banerjee said, expressing confidence in TMC’s electoral prospects.
He further alleged that there is growing unease within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to him, BJP leaders are attempting to shape media narratives in their favor. “There is panic in the BJP camp. They are calling journalists and asking them to run the narrative that the BJP has done well in the first phase and is cruising ahead,” he claimed.
The remarks come at a crucial time as political parties closely monitor voter turnout and early trends, with both TMC and BJP intensifying their campaigns for the upcoming phases.
As the electoral battle continues, statements from key leaders are expected to further escalate the political discourse across the state.
