Addressing a political rally in West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah outlined a series of welfare promises that the BJP plans to implement if it comes to power in the state.
Highlighting a strong focus on social security and economic support, Shah announced that women will not have to purchase tickets while travelling on government buses, ensuring safer and more accessible public transport.
In a significant push for maternal welfare, pregnant women will receive financial assistance of ₹21,000 to support healthcare and nutrition during pregnancy.
For the agricultural sector, Shah promised that farmers would receive ₹3,100 per quintal as the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy. He also assured that potato prices would be stabilized to protect farmers from market fluctuations.
Additionally, the BJP leader stated that widows, senior citizens, and Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) would receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,000, aiming to strengthen social welfare and financial security for vulnerable groups.
- The announcements come amid an intense political battle in West Bengal, with parties stepping up their campaign efforts and welfare outreach ahead of elections.
