Himanta Biswa Sarma Calls Bengal Oath Ceremony a ‘Victory Day’, Says BJP Rule Will Restore Law & Order

Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said that the swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government in West Bengal will mark a “victory day” for the party and its allies across the eastern region.

Speaking ahead of the ceremony, Sarma stated that he will attend the oath-taking event and return to Guwahati afterward. He highlighted that the occasion will witness the presence of Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers from 21 states, underlining the significance of the political moment.

Sarma further emphasized that with the formation of the BJP government in West Bengal, most states in the Purvanchal and Uttar Purvanchal regions—except Jharkhand—will now be governed by the BJP or its allies under the NDA umbrella.

He also expressed confidence that the law and order situation in West Bengal will improve and return to normalcy following the establishment of the new government.

The swearing-in ceremony is being seen as a landmark event, signaling a major political shift in eastern India and strengthening the BJP-led NDA’s regional presence.
