Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several projects worth Rs 33000 crores in Bengaluru. He inaugurated the country’s third fully air conditioned railway terminal and laid the foundation stone for over Rs 15000 crores Bengaluru suburban railway project. Five National Highways and seven railway projects were also launched by the Prime Minister. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the double engine government in Centre and State has spurred development in Karnataka.
Praising the city of Bengaluru for its strides in the area of innovation and technology, the Prime Minister said that traffic congestion, infrastructure problems and connectivity issues will be resolved by the projects launched today. He assured that the Suburban rail project envisaged 40 years ago will be completed in 40 months and logistic cost will be reduced by rail, road and air connectivity. He pointed out that the reforms and other development works carried out in the last eight years are yielding results now. The start ups have contributed immensely to the economy and the country that had a few Unicorns with over 100 billion net worth has today grown exponentially carrying a value of 12 lakh crore rupees. The introduction of e-market and GeM facilities have helped the MSMEs. The Prime Minister stressed that a level playing field is provided to the private sectors and the youth are given platforms to share their ideas and contribute in the Government programmes.
