Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Friday questioned the BJP’s decision to make a “so-called Shiv Sainik” the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, when it did not keep its 2019 promise of rotating the post.
The former Chief Minister of Maharashtra was addressing the media at the Shiv Sena Bhavan for the first time after stepping down from his post.
Talking about the newly elected Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, Uddhav Thackeray said, “We don’t consider him as Sena’s CM. Without the Sena, how can he be a Sena CM?”
Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray today said that time is ripe for the Election Commission to introduce ‘Right to Recall’.
In a video statement,Uddhav Thackeray said voters must have a chance to recall their elected representative if they are not happy with the choices he/she is making.
This comes days after Uddhav Thackeray was forced to quit as Chief Minister as over two-third of his party’s elected MLAs ditched him to form a separate group led by Eknath Shinde.
On Eknath Shinde taking oath as Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray said he is not sure what the BJP has gained in this whole matter. He said power sharing arrangement with a BJP and Shiv Sena Chief Minister for two and a half years each would have been the best option.
He said the citizens are aghast as Shiv Sena supremo’s son has been forced to vacate the chair of the Chief Minister which is now occupied by a so-called Shiv Sainik.
Commenting on the decision to move the Metro car shed to Aarey, Uddhav Thackeray urged the government to consider environmental damage it will cause and not to take hasty decisions.
