Gorakhpur is gearing up for a transformational leap in sports infrastructure as the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art International Cricket Stadium was laid in the city. Spread across 48 acres, the upcoming stadium will feature a 30,000-seat capacity, marking a significant milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s expanding sports ecosystem.

The Phase-I foundation stone ceremony was attended by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Yogi Adityanath. The project is expected to strengthen Gorakhpur’s position as an emerging hub for sports development and talent nurturing.

The proposed international-standard cricket venue aims to host domestic and international matches while creating opportunities for local athletes and sports enthusiasts. Officials believe the project will not only boost sporting activities but also contribute to tourism, employment generation, and economic growth in the region.

The stadium project aligns with the broader vision of strengthening sports infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh and promoting world-class facilities for young athletes.
As construction begins, cricket fans and residents of Gorakhpur are looking forward to witnessing a new chapter in the city’s sporting journey.
