This is the season of weddings but today, a wedding that was rare was solemnized.

Gangster Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi married his sweetheart Anuradha Choudhary
alias ‘Madam Minz’ in Delhi’s Dwarka on Tuesday amid heavy deployment of security
personnel. Sandeep, the groom, is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, had been granted the
window of 10 am – 4 pm for his wedding by a Delhi court. The bride, Anuradha
Choudhary, is currently out on bail.
The capital literally turned into a fortress with heavy security deployment ahead of the
gangster’s much-talked- about wedding that took place in Dwarka Sector-3’s Santosh
Banquet. Strict arrangements were made to prevent any gang wars or the possibility of
Kala Jathedi escaping custody, informed Delhi police.

Teams from the Delhi Police Special Cell, Special Staff and Crime Branch, were all
deputed on duty ahead of the wedding. As per some reports, guests were given
barcode bands before entering the venue. Additionally, no vehicle was allowed without
an entry pass to park near the banquet, said a police official.
Sandeep’s lawyer had booked the banquet for the wedding — located seven kilometres
away from Tihar Jail – at a cost of INR 51000.
Kala Jathedi and Madam Minz’s wedding took place today amid the deployment of more
than 200 policemen and Special Weapons and Techniques (SWAT) commandoes
carrying hi-tech weaponry. An official informed that two doorframe metal detectors were
set up at the entry point of the venue and every single invitee as well as staff at the
wedding had to pass through it.
To keep vigil on every person entering and exiting the banquet, all the guests were
given a barcode band ahead of their entry in the venue. “No vehicle without the valid
entry pass will be allowed to the parking near the banquet,” the official had informed
earlier.
Additionally, over half a dozen CCTV cameras and drones were present to monitor the
activities during the wedding today.
Meanwhile, another officer informed that Sandeep’s family had shared with them a list of
150 guests, adding that all the staff on duty at the event will also be provided with ID
cards for identification checks.
Citing the risks of an untoward shootout, gang wars or such incidents, a senior Delhi
police personnel said, “We don’t want to take any chances. Therefore, an adequate
deployment of police personnel will be deployed from Tihar Jail at the wedding venue in
Dwarka.”
The groom: Who is Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi?
Once a wanted criminal carrying a reward of INR 7 lakh, Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi
faces over a dozen cases of robbery, murder, attempt to murder, extortion and arms Act
in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. A known associate of dreaded

jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Sandeep has been a part of contract killings and
extortions with businessmen, as per the police. Previously, Sandeep had fled from the
Haryana Police’ custody himself and arranged the escape of his associate from the
Delhi Police’s custody.
The gangster managed to flee from the custody of Haryana Police while being taken to
the Faridabad Court in 2020. At the time, his gang members had surrounded the cops
and opened fire at them injuring one police personnel.
Sandeep and his associated then planned and executed a shootout in Delhi’s GTB
Hospital in 2021 to help free one Kuldeep Fajja from Delhi Police custody. Fajja was
later caught, however, and killed in an encounter with the Special Cell, as informed by
Delhi Police.
Sandeep who has been granted a six-hour parole for his marriage by a Delhi Court will
be taken to his hometown in Sonipat, Haryana’s Jathedi village after his marriage for the
homecoming rituals. Police official said that the gangster will be escorted by a large
number of Delhi Police personnel from the Third Battalion unit that is responsible for
taking a prisoner out of jail and bringing them back to the jail.
The bride: Who is Madam Minz alias Anuradha Choudhary?
Sandeep’s fiancée, Anuradha Choudhary alias ‘Madam Minz’ also has several criminal
records and is currently out on bail. She is a close associate of the slain gangster
Anandpal Singh, and is currently facing over half-a-dozen cases involving money
laundering, abduction, threats and arms Act in Rajasthan and Delhi.
Kala Jathedi and Madam Minz were arrested by Delhi Police Special Cell from near a
dhaba (eating place) on Yamuna Nagar-Saharanpur highway in July 2021. Both were
staying together at the time.
While Sandeep had a reward of INR 7 lakh on his head, Choudhary was carrying a
reward of INR 10,000 by the Rajasthan Police.
The two fell in love in 2020 when Choudhary met Sandeep in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore
through a common associate, Vicky Singh, Anandpal Singh’s brother.

Choudhary’s nickname, Madam Minz comes from her first husband’s surname. She
married Deepak Minz in 2007 and parted ways with him in 2013, a police officer said.
