The 400-years-old Barisha Sasan Kali temple was found looted by the burglars on the first day of the New Year. The theft was detected on Friday morning after local people noticed the main door of the temple was broken. The eye of Kali idol was gouged out.
The jewelleries and ornaments of the idol were also looted. The local people were shocked with the robbery in the such ancient temple. They informed police. After being informed a police team from Thakurpukur police station came to the spot to investigate the theft.
