Bhartiya Janta party leaders went to Election commission office on Saturday. The BJP leaders team consisted of BJP MP Swapan Dasgupta, BJP leader Sabyasachi Dutta, MP Arjun Singh, Sisir Bajoria. They accused TMC of misuse of power within 24 hours of announcement of West Bengal Election polls.
The BJP on Saturday raised the issue of ‘political violence’ in West Bengal with the Election Commission after their LED vehicles were allegedly vandalized by TMC goons in Kolkata.
The shocking vandalism of BJP’s LED vehicles comes hours after EC’s announcement of the state’s poll schedule. The end of the Election Commission’s press conference also kick-started the model code of conduct in poll-bound Bengal, with such incidents posing a serious threat to safe, free, and fair elections in the state. Previously, the BJP had alleged that nearly 150 of its workers had died in the last two years under the TMC government’s rule.
Sisir Bajoria said,”A police welfare committee was made. Now the office in charge is asking the police officers for submitting their voter and aadhar card. We tried to meet Police commissioner, but he didn’t gave time. So we have informed Election commission. We want to meet Police commissioner to let him know about this stuffs”.
MP Swapan Dasgupta said,” By using name of a welfare society, they are doing this. They want to gather all ballot of police together. It’s very much easy for everyone to understand, what conspiracy will be done afterwards”.
Sabyasachi Dutta said,”Various Municipality is still issuing work order. We had already appealed against this. This should be stopped. How can they announce project despite model code of conduct in the state”.
BJP leader added,”The model code of conduct for the Election has already started. Still Mamata Banerjee is using four IPS officer for her security. Central government should give security to Mamata Banerjee. If IPS officer were given this duty then Election procedure will get jerk”.
