Brentford Beat Manchester United 4-0

Manchester United suffered a 4-0 defeat against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Manchester United with four first-half goals to hand United’s new head coach Erik ten Hag a second consecutive defeat to open the season.

Josh Dasilva’s 10th-minute shot from the edge of the area squirmed through David De Gea’s grasp and trickled over the line.

Brentford added a second eight minutes later, as Mathias Jensen capitalised on another defensive mistake by Manchester United to fire into the bottom corner.

Ben Mee headed in to make it 3-0 on the half-hour, before Bryan Mbeumo finished following a quick counter-attack to earn Brentford their first-ever top-flight win over Manchester United.

In fact, it was Brentford’s first victory over Manchester United in any competition since a 2-0 FA Cup win in February 1938.

It also means Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United have lost their opening two Premier League fixtures for the first time since the 1992/93 campaign.

Brentford coach Thomas Frank said ,”I’m a little bit speechless and lost for words, in a way.

Because it’s Manchester United, the biggest club in the world, one of the best teams still, they have top players, and we’ve just beaten them 4-0.”

Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag: “It’s a surprise when you start the game like this; in 35 minutes conceding four goals. It’s not possible. So, the team has to take responsibility. I feel really sorry for the fans. They give everything to support us and we let them down.”
