CITY STUDENTS PLEDGE TO UPROOT DRUG ABUSE FROM CAMPUSES

Several students took out a procession and rally on bicycles and on foot in the city yesterday to
raise awareness against drug abuse especially on campuses. The procession and rally were
flagged off by the Governor of West Bengal, CV. Ananda Bose. The participants pledged not
become addicted to drugs and to prevent their friends and fellow students from its addiction.
They resolved to uproot drug addiction from their campuses and make them safe and student
friendly. The Governor, CV Ananda Bose said during the flag-off,” It is important to ensure that
places of study are conducive to the well-being of our students, and they are the future of our
country. Drug abuse hinders the full potential of any young person. It is imperative that we
eradicate drug use in all its forms from campuses. “
