Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde will be the next Chief Cinister, said Devendra Fadnavis in a major twist to the Maharashtra political crisis on Thursday. The announcement came minutes after the duo met the Governor to stake claim to form the Government. Fadnavis said that he would not play any role in the new government but added that the BJP would give support to the Shinde dispensation. A few hours later, BJP National Pesident JP Nadda said that the party had made a request to Fadnavis to take charge as deputy CM.
BJP National President JP Nadda said ,”BJP’s central leadership has decided that Devendra Fadnavis should become a part of the Govt. So, made a personal request to him and Central leadership has said that Devendra Fadnvais should take charge as Deputy CM of Maharashtra..”
Devendra Fadnavis has decided to join the Maharashtra Government on the request of BJP chief JP Nadda;to take oath as Dy CMtweets Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
