Close Watch on the Chief Minister

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's health condition is stable and doctors
are keeping a close watch on her, a senior official of the state administration informed
the media today. He added that she had slept well through the night yesterday. Mamata
Banerjee suffered a fall at her Kalighat residence yesterday and sustained a major
injury on her forehead and nose. With blood oozing out of the cut on her forehead, she
was rushed to the SSKM Hospital for treatment.
"The CM's health condition is stable. She had a good sleep in the night as senior
doctors kept a close watch on her throughout the period. This morning there will be
another assessment of her condition," the official told news source, PTI, on Friday
morning.
Chief Minister received three stiches on forehead, one on nose
The West Bengal chief minister required three stitches on her forehead and one on her
nose because of the injury caused by the fall. She was discharged following necessary
medical tests at the hospital.    She had a cerebral concussion and a sharp cut on her
forehead and nose that was bleeding profusely. After being admitted at SSKM, she was
assessed by senior doctors of the neurosurgery, medicine, and cardiology departments
of the institute and her vitals were stabilised. “Three stitches were needed on her
forehead, and one on her nose. The required dressing was done. Investigations like
ECG, echocardiogram, CT-Scan, and Doppler were done," SSKM hospital director
Manimoy Bandyopadhyay informed officially speaking to the media.

SSKM Hospital's bulletin had earlier informed that the chief minister had a fall

"due to
push". Kolkata Police have started a probe into this.
"As of now, there has been no complaint lodged in connection with the fall of the CM.
We have increased the security around the C M's residence," a senior police officer told
PTI earlier, adding that they were investigating whether there was any security lapse or
not.

The TMC on Thursday evening posted pictures of Mamata Banerjee bleeding from her
forehead on the social media platform X and requested people to keep the TMC
supremo in their prayers.
Party national general secretary and Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek rushed her
to SSKM in his vehicle and got her admitted to the hospital. Several senior leaders,
including the general public also rushed to the hospital upon getting the news of her
accident.
