Arsenal maintain their 100% record this season with a comeback win over Fulham. Aleksandar Mitrovic gave the visitors the lead but the Gunners quickly responded through captain Martin Odegaard, before Gabriel scored the winner late on.
Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic said,”That is football, sometimes you win, last week last minute but today we lost. We gave everything out there, we fought until the end but we conceded two unlucky goals. First was rebound, second was after ricocheted. Very sad we didn’t take any points but we move on.”
Fulham manager Marco Silva said ,”All the credit for my players – the commitment, the attitude, the organisation. We were better on the ball in the second half than the first, and they deserved much more from the game, much more. There was bad luck with the two goals – the first is a deflection and I don’t know how they scored the second – but there are many positives we can take from the game”
Arsenal match-winner Gabriel said ,
“After I lost the ball my head was down, but my brothers kept saying ‘Let’s go’. I lifted my head up – my team-mates were a big help to me. After the referee said handball, I just asked God. I’m so happy with my team and the three points. It’s a big fight. I’m so happy”
Arsenal first goalscorer Martin Odegaard said,”It was brilliant. We knew it was going to be a tough game, Fulham are a strong team, but we showed great sprit and fight. We played really well in the first half, we just lacked the goal; Gabriel’s mistake is football, it happens and I’m proud of the way he came back and got the winning goal. There’s great chemistry here at the moment”
