Filmfare Awards 2024: Took Place In Gandhinagar, Gujarat
At a glittering evening that saw the best of Bollywood gather, the Filmfare Awards 2024 were announced and awarded. Power couple husband-wife duo, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor received the top honours. The event took place in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on Sunday night.
Among the special wins, Vidhu Vinod Chopra won the best director Filmfare while his film 12th Fail received the best film of the year. The film’s lead actor Vikrant Massey won the best actor (critics), and veterans Shefali Shah and Rani Mukerji were named best actress (critics) for Three of Us and Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway respectively.
As one of the oldest and hugely popular film awards in the country, the Filmfare Awards are given to the best of Hindi cinema each year. Winners are named in both popular as well critics’ category. This year, it was the 69th edition of the awards and the event was hosted by Karan Johar and Ayushmann Khurrana. There were performances by Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kartik Aaryan, among others.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor won best actor (popular) for his performance in Animal while Alia Bhatt received the best actress (popular) Filmfare for her performance in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
