Former CP of Chandannagar Humayun Kabir joined the Trinamool Congress on Tuesday at the Chief Minister’s public meeting in Kalna . He resigned from the post of Police Commissioner of Chandannagar Commissionerate on the 1st of this month. He retired with 4 months left in his career. He said that he resigned from his post due to personal reasons.
Although there has been speculation since then, after his wife Anindita Das Kabir joined the Trinamool just a few months ago. Humayun Kabir once had a very close relationship with former Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya.
The former IPS officer belonged to the 2003 batch On the one hand, he was known for his stern action, on the other hand, he also practiced literature. He has been writing in various newspapers for a long time. In 2016, this IPS officer also directed a movie.
He has worked in multiple places in his career. After holding the post of Superintendent of Police in Murshidabad, he was transferred to the post of DC (Headquarters) of Barrackpore Commissionerate. After working there for some time, he joined as the Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police. He later joined the Chandannagar Commissionerate as Commissioner of Police Humayun Kabir.
