Japanese former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has died, public broadcaster NHK said on Friday.
Shinzo Abe was Japan’s longest-serving leader before stepping down for health reasons in 2020.
Shinzo Abe, 67, had been delivering a stump speech near a train station in the western city of Nara when he was shot by an assailant.
Former Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe died on Friday after being shot while campaigning for a parliamentary election, public broadcaster NHK confirmed. Police have arrested a 41-year-old man suspected of carrying out the shooting and is conducting raids at his home.
