COVID-19 and its ensuing lockdown was a phase that none who lived through it is likely to forget. But you are lucky you didn’t face your wedding being thrown off gear because of it, did you?

“Kusum Ka Biyaah” depicts a real-life event that unfolded during the COVID-19 lockdown. The story revolves around a wedding procession travelling from Bihar to Jharkhand that finds itself stranded at the state border due to the sudden enforcement of lockdown measures by the government.

The Film Narrates The Tale Of A Middle-class Mining Worker And An Aspiring Student Who Agree To Marry For The Sake Of Their Parents’ Happiness.

Their plans, however, take an unexpected turn due to the government’s announcement that disrupts their wedding day leading to a series of comedic and heartwarming adventures in the process.

Directed by Suvendu Raj Ghosh and written by Vikash Dubey and Sandip Dubey, “Kusum Ka Biyaah” has an ensemble cast that has Lovekansh Garg, Sujana Darjee, and Pradip Chopra in lead roles and is supported by Raja Sarkar, Suhani Biswas, Panya Darshan Gupta, Atanu Mahata, Samir Kumar Dutta, Khurshid Alam, Manoj Ojha, and Raj Singh Sidhu and others.

This film has already earned numerous prestigious awards for its portrayal of social issues and quaint portrayal of life. Pradip Chopra, the producer and lead actor, was recently honoured with the Best Actor Award by a prominent Bollywood magazine at its film award ceremony held in Mumbai.

Based on intricate research, the film authentically captures the culture and lifestyle of the Santali tribe including their traditional wedding ceremonies.

“Kusum Ka Biyaah” will be available to a wider audience in the country through dubbing in Bengali, Rajvanshi, Santali, and Bhojpuri languages. Listeners will enjoy its catchy songs by Zee Music.

This cinematic creation should serve as a compelling case study, by offering invaluable insights into social crisis situations and a reflection on navigating turbulent times with foresight.
