Maharashtra Political Crisis: Eknath Shinde sacked as Shiv Sena legislative party leader

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said ,”Eknath Shinde has been sacked as Shiv Sena group leader in Maharashtra legislative assembly.”

After suspected cross-voting in Maharashtra MLC elections and the camping of ‘rebel’ party MLAs in Gujarat, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray held an urgent meeting of all Shiv Sena MLAs on Tuesday. Meanwhile, sources said ,Bal Thackeray loyalist Eknath Shinde will be addressing a press conference in Surat today.

Disgruntled Senior Shivsena leader and State Cabinet Minister Eknath Shinde has become incommunicado to the party leadership since last evening.

According to the sources as many as 29 sitting Shivsena MLAs are accompanying Mr. Shinde who is staying put at the Le Meridien Hotel in Surat, Gujarat.

According to sources said that many of the MLAs including the three legislators from Raigad too were not reachable since last evening. It is learnt that Gujarat BJP Chief C.R. Patil met the Shivsena MLAs at the hotel

Sources said that Mr. Shinde and other MLAs are likely to move to another hotel at Sanand near Ahmedabad.

Shivsena President and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has summoned all the party MLAs to his official residence in Mumbai where he will hold dialogues with them. The Congress and NCP leadership have also called meetings at their respective ends.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday alleged that a third attempt is being made to pull down the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra but expressed confidence that chief minister Udhhav Thackeray will be able to handle the situation.
