Football lovers and Ajay Devgn fans can rejoice! Maidaan is releasing shortly and the

actor is set to launch the trailer of the sports drama on Thursday.
Ajay has released a new teaser that shows some children playing street football. The
football finds its way to Ajay’s character, who executes a professional-style kick that
sends the ball right back to the children, this, despite an oncoming trundling towards
him. “Aajao Maidaan mein! We’re ready to present the incredible true story of the
golden era of Indian Football. #MaidaanTrailerKicksOffTomorrow#MaidaanOnEid

Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and co-produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee
Studios, the film Maidaan is dedicated to the golden years of Indian football and is a
biographical sports drama. It is based on the legendary football coach Syed Abdul
Rahim.
Ajay essays the role of coach Abdul Rahim, widely known as the founding father of
Indian football. The cast includes Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh and
others.
Last year, the makers of Maidaan unveiled the film’s teaser. It received a lot of positive
response from the audiences.
The teaser had dynamic shots of sportsmen playing football in the rain. What stood out
was the passion and how they were shown playing the game barefoot. The lead actor,
Ajay Devgn was shown making a striking appearance in a grey coat and holding a black
umbrella, overlooking a match.

The teaser concluded with his adrenaline-pumping dialogue, “Aaj Maidaan mein utarna
gyarah lekin dikhna ek (today when you step out on the field, you should be 11 in
number but should look like one).”
In 2020, producer Boney Kapoor had to set aside the film set due to the lockdown
imposed on different industries owing to the ongoing pandemic.
In May 2021, the set of Maidaan was destroyed by Cyclone Tauktae that developed in
the Arabian Sea.
Film slated for release this Eid.
The film will release on Eid this year.
Ajay Devgn also has another release coming up where he will be seen sharing screen
space with R. Madhavan. The film Shaitaan starring Devgn, Madhavan, Jyotika, and
Janki Bodiwala among others is a horror thriller that will be out in theatres on March 8.
