Nitish Kumar sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the eight time on Wednesday with Tejashwi Yadav, who was the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, as his deputy. A simple ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan in capital Patna.
After being sworn in as the chief minister of Bihar for an eighth term, Nitish Kumar on Wednesday called for a united Opposition ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
“Those who came to power in 2014, will they be victorious in 2024? I would like all (opposition) to be united for 2024. I am not a contender for any such post (on PM post),” Kumar told reporters.

New Bihar government will run just fine: CM Nitish Kumar
Bihar Chief Mnister Nitish Kumar said on Wednesday that the new Mahagathbandhan-led state Government will run just fine, after the BJP claimed of an early fall in the new Government.
Earlier, Janta Dal (United) snapped its ties with the BJP paving the way for formation of a new Government with the support of RJD and Congress. The RJD and Congress extended their support to Nitish Kumar to form the Government. The decision to part ways with BJP was taken at the JD (U)’s Legislators Party meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Hindustani Awam Morcha( HAM) also decided to extend unconditional support Nitish Kumar. This decision was taken at party legislators meeting which was chaired by Jitan Ram Manjhi.
