PM Modi and PM Frederiksen addressing joint press meet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting today with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen.

The two leaders held talks in a one-on-one format, followed by delegation level talks.

Both Prime Ministers reviewed progress of the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership. Discussions covered cooperation in renewable energy, especially offshore wind energy and green hydrogen, as well as skill development, health, shipping, water and the Arctic, among others.

Prime Minister appreciated the positive contribution of Danish companies in India’s flagship programmes. Prime Minister Frederiksen highlighted the positive role of Indian companies in Denmark.

Both leaders lauded the expanding people to people ties between the two countries, and welcomed the Declaration of Intent on a migration and mobility partnership.

‘India’s Green Strategic Partnership with Denmark is deeply valued. PM Frederiksen and I discussed how we can make this partnership even more effective. We also discussed cooperation in sectors such as renewable energy, ports, shipping, water management and more,’PM Modi said.

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said ,”Thank you @Narendramodi for good, constructive talks on the next step in our green strategic partnership. Accelerating the green energy transition is central to our climate and security.”

“Also talked about the war in Ukraine. Made Denmark and EU’s position clear, and that we would like to see India use its influence with Putin”,She added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said,”we have discussed many regional and global issues including India-EU relations, Indo-Pacific and #Ukraine. PM Modi hopes that the negotiations on India-EU Free Trade Agreement will be conclude soon.”

Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues.
