Jordan Pickford was the hero at the other end as, after Mason Mount’s shot had hit both posts, the Everton goalkeeper made a stunning goalline save from Cesar Azpilicueta before then denying Antonio Rudiger at point-blank range.
Frank Lampard’s Everton remain 18th on 32 points but they have a match in hand on both teams above them.
Chelsea stay third on 66 points, three above fourth-placed Arsenal and with a superior goal difference.
Everton coach Frank Lampard said,“Today was a huge game for us and when you see the fans turn up before this game and what they did to this game – they were people of the match
Men, women and youngsters, all Everton crazy, they love this club and they pushed us over the line.
It was amazing and I can only thank them. I have been through a lot in football but it was a goosebumps moment on the way in.
It is not the norm, driving up and seeing the fans like that, it is special, and it makes a big difference when you feel pushed on by the ferocity and nice aggression of the fans support.
The players understand what it means to people but, sometimes, a little reminder is a good thing, and they produced an outstanding display against a very good team. The great discipline and work ethic stemmed from the great support.”
👊 | "I am delighted. It was a big game for us but we have still got a lot of work to do."

Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel said ,”In the last four matches we have one clean sheet and that was against West Ham and that is the only win we have, and this is of course very disappointing.
It was a different game against Man U. It was more open, we found the spaces, we were more fluid, we created a lot of chances and finally scored late and then conceded straightaway. Today was more like the game against West Ham when an opponent defends deep and it was hard to find spaces in the first half.
Against West Ham we had a clean sheet and we simply played without any big mistake and it gave us the chance to score late. If you go behind in an atmosphere and an opponent like this [at Everton], and you install belief and emotion in the stadium, and belief in the opposing team, you struggle and that is what happened.
We give a goal away. That is the worst thing that can happen to you in this atmosphere and this situation. It is our responsibility and it happens too often. We struggle to play without big mistakes and that is why we struggle to have results.’
