With mobster Goldy Brar of Canada claiming responsibility for the murder of singer-politician Sidhu Moosewala, sources in the Delhi Police Special Cell said they would investigate persons linked to Lawrence Bishnoi, whose group Brar is a member of. Many of these associates, according to authorities, are already imprisoned in and around Delhi.
Senior authorities also stated that Brar was being investigated for allegedly plotting multiple murders and attempted murders from within Canada.
According to the officer, Bishnoi and his crew have criminal records in Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana, with Bishnoi still able to manage his group from within a Rajasthan jail.
In February of last year, Brar reportedly plotted the assassination of Youth Congress Leader Gurlal Singh Balwan in Punjab with the aid of Bishnoi.
DCP (Special Cell) Manishi Chandra had told the media at the time that his squad had apprehended three persons who had fired more than ten to twelve shots at Balwan, killing him. “The accused admitted to their crime, saying they followed Balwan during the farmers’ demonstration at the Singhu border and even during the Jantar Mantar riots on January 26 last year, but were unable to carry out their plan due to the throng.” They assassinated him in February on Brar’s orders.”
The associates of Bishnoi’s gang are as well-known as the mobster himself. Sampat Nehra, his partner and buddy, was detained by the Haryana Special Task Force in Hyderabad in 2018 on suspicion of plotting to assassinate Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
Nehra, the son of a former Chandigarh police officer, has also claimed responsibility for the April 2018 shooting of Punjabi artist Parmish Verma in Chandigarh.
Kala Jathedi, Monty, and Kala Rana are some of the gang’s other significant members. Rana was extradited to India from Thaliand and detained by DCP Chandra’s squad in March, allegedly engaged in 30 killings.
The Delhi Police Special Cell nabbed Jathedi and his lover Anuradha Chaudhari, dubbed “lady don” in Rajasthan, in July last year for allegedly being involved in 40 killings.
