West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee held a mega rally at Hooghly’s Pursura. Hooghly had been quite a comfortable zone for TMC till 2018. But in 2019 Loksabha election, the results didn’t went in favour of TMC rather BJP won from Singur seat. Speaking on Victoria memorial incident on Netaji’s birthday, Mamata Banerjee said,” Those people were trying to tease me. They thought by their slogans I will get teased in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Victoria Memorial. I would have saluted them, if they hailed Netaji. But instead they did something illegal and Mamata Banerjee knows very well how to retaliate. Their act was insult for Bengalis. Look I must say, I would rather slit my throat. But won’t bow down my head in front of BJP”.
Mamata Banerjee made her party’s intension clear on leaders party leaving issue. Their stand point is to let unwilling leaders leave the party. From the rally Mamata Banerjee added,” Trinamool will give tickets of the Election to those, who have worked for the people. Those who haven’t, will not get any tickets. Some leaders has understood our principle, so they are leaving TMC and joining BJP. Those who are waiting for their turn, just go ahead quickly”.
Though Trinamool Congress Supremo made one thing clear, Whoever leaving the party now in this tough situation, will not be welcomed in future. Mamata Banerjee added,” TMC will not take those people back who are full of greediness. They had made money and now trying to use BJP washing powder to clean their black money”.
