Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined Nordic leaders at the 3rd India-Nordic Summit in Oslo, reinforcing a shared commitment toward sustainable growth, technological innovation, and stronger strategic collaboration.

In a significant development, India and the Nordic countries decided to elevate their relationship to a Green Technology and Innovation Strategic Partnership, marking a major step toward expanding cooperation in future-focused sectors.

The leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration in key areas including clean and green transition, trade and investments, blue economy, digitalisation, artificial intelligence (AI), and innovation ecosystems. Amid global economic and geopolitical uncertainties, the partnership was highlighted as a pillar of stability and sustainable development.
Discussions also covered regional and global issues, with leaders agreeing to deepen cooperation in multilateral platforms. Nordic nations reiterated their support for India’s permanent membership in a reformed and expanded United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
The summit concluded with the announcement that the next India-Nordic Summit will be held in Helsinki, further strengthening the strategic partnership between India and the Nordic region.
