Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has intensified the political debate over delimitation, sharing a strongly worded message on social media calling for widespread resistance across the state.
In his statement, Stalin urged that opposition to the proposed delimitation exercise should grow across Tamil Nadu, while launching a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, accusing it of arrogance and authoritarian tendencies.

Drawing parallels with the historic anti-Hindi agitations, he said that Tamil Nadu has a legacy of resistance that once compelled Delhi to respond, and asserted that a similar movement is being reignited. Stalin also claimed to have symbolically burned a copy of what he termed a “black law,” alleging it would marginalise Tamils in their own land.
Emphasising Tamil identity and pride, he invoked cultural sentiment, stating that Tamil is both the foundation of their origin and the inner strength that drives their spirit. He expressed confidence that the renewed resistance would spread across the state and challenge the Centre’s stance.
The remarks come amid a growing national debate on delimitation and its potential political and regional implications, with several states expressing concerns over representation and fairness.
