Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee launched a sharp attack on the BJP during a political rally in West Bengal, accusing the party of displaying arrogance and disrespect toward Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Referring to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s “Ei Didi” remark, Abhishek alleged the BJP was repeating what he called a pattern of political ridicule aimed at Mamata Banerjee. Drawing a parallel with the 2021 Assembly elections, he recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Didi O Didi” slogan and claimed Bengal had already responded by reducing the BJP’s ambitions at the ballot box.
Escalating his attack, Abhishek Banerjee predicted the BJP would perform even worse in the upcoming elections, claiming the party would be pushed below 50 seats. He asserted that Bengal would politically reject what he described as contempt directed at the state and its leadership.
The remarks add further intensity to the high-stakes political contest in West Bengal, where sharp rhetoric, identity politics and electoral positioning continue to dominate campaign discourse.
