In the wake of a major political shift in the Rajya Sabha, former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha has spoken out on his decision to exit the party and support the merger of seven MPs with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing questions around his move, Chadha said his entry into politics was driven by purpose, not personal ambition. “I came into politics not to build my career but by leaving my career,” he stated.
He alleged that the AAP had deviated from its founding ideals and was now being run by individuals focused on personal gains. “AAP has now fallen into the hands of those who are working for their personal gains. We, a total of seven MPs, had decided to leave this political party,” he added.
Chadha also assured citizens that his commitment to public service remains unchanged despite the political transition. “I will raise all your problems with even more hard work and will also be able to work on their resolution,” he said.
The statement comes days after seven AAP Rajya Sabha MPs formally merged with the BJP, significantly altering the party’s strength in the Upper House and intensifying the political debate around ideology and leadership within the AAP.
