Amid rising temperatures across the country, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has urged citizens not to panic over the prevailing heatwave conditions in May. Emphasising a calm and informed approach, he reassured that the situation remains manageable with simple precautions and responsible public behaviour.
The advisory, based on the latest outlook from the India Meteorological Department, highlights the importance of awareness and preparedness rather than fear-driven reactions. The government has called on citizens to stay informed, avoid unnecessary exposure to extreme heat, and follow basic safety measures to mitigate health risks.
Dr. Singh stressed that while temperatures are expected to remain high in several regions, there is no cause for alarm. Instead, he encouraged people to adopt practical steps such as staying hydrated, avoiding peak afternoon sun, and taking extra care of vulnerable groups including children and the elderly.
In a message to the agricultural community, the Minister advised farmers to plan their daily activities around heat conditions. He noted that the current weather scenario remains generally favourable for harvesting late Rabi crops, provided appropriate precautions are taken during peak heat hours.
The government’s appeal focuses on promoting a balanced response—urging citizens to remain alert but not alarmed. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and are prepared to respond to any escalation if required.
