The newly launched Vande Bharat Express on the Jammu–Srinagar route has witnessed a strong public response, with 8,925 passengers travelling within the first two days of operations, officials confirmed.
On its inaugural run, around 3,925 यात्रियों boarded the train, while the number surged past 5,000 on the second day, reflecting growing demand for the service.
Railway officials highlighted that the train is fast becoming a preferred travel option due to its affordability and comfort. Ticket prices are set at ₹730 (excluding catering), making it significantly cheaper compared to airfares between Jammu and Srinagar, which typically range from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000.
The new rail service is expected to boost connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir while offering a reliable and budget-friendly alternative for travellers.
