Vijay’s TVK Seeks Congress Backing to Form Tamil Nadu Government; INC Emphasizes Secular Mandate

In a key post-election development, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) President Vijay has reached out to the Indian National Congress (INC), seeking its support to form the next government in Tamil Nadu.

Responding to the proposal, Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K. C. Venugopal stated that the party interprets the electoral verdict as a clear mandate for a secular government committed to safeguarding the Constitution in both letter and spirit.

Venugopal reiterated that the Congress is determined to ensure that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies do not influence the governance of Tamil Nadu “in any manner.”

Vijay, who has recently made a strong political entry, has also spoken about drawing inspiration from veteran leader K. Kamaraj, known for his integrity and pro-people governance model.

The Congress leadership has now directed the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) to take a final call on the matter, considering the public sentiment reflected in the election results.

This development could prove crucial in shaping the political landscape of Tamil Nadu, as alliance dynamics continue to evolve following the assembly elections.
