Finn-tastic! Allen’s Explosive 47-Ball Century Powers KKR to Dominant 8-Wicket Victory Over DC

It was the Finn Allen show at the Arun Jaitley Stadium as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) dismantled the Delhi Capitals (DC) in a clinical eight-wicket victory. The Kiwi opener’s maiden IPL ton, capped off with a dramatic winning six, has breathed new life into KKR’s playoff campaign and sent their Net Run Rate (NRR) soaring.

Match Summary: DC vs KKR, Match 51

Delhi Capitals: 142/8 (20 overs)

Kolkata Knight Riders: 147/2 (14.2 overs)

Result: KKR won by 8 wickets with 34 balls to spare.

Player of the Match: Finn Allen

DC Stumble After a Flashing Start
Choosing to bowl first, KKR’s bowling unit initially felt the heat as Pathum Nissanka (50 off 29) and KL Rahul (23) raced to a 49-run opening stand. However, the introduction of spin turned the tide.

The spin duo of Anukul Roy (2/31) and the ever-economical Sunil Narine (1/17) strangled the middle order, causing DC to collapse from 74/2 to 89/5. A late, spirited cameo from Ashutosh Sharma (39 off 28) was the only reason Delhi reached a respectable 142/8, but it ultimately proved to be far below par on a night meant for history.

The Finn Allen Storm

KKR’s chase started precariously, losing Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi early to leave the score at 31/2. What followed was absolute carnage.

Finn Allen and Cameron Green (33* off 27) stitched together an unbeaten 116-run partnership. Allen was the primary aggressor, smashing 10 towering sixes and 5 fours. In a fairytale finish, Allen needed two runs for the win and six for his century; he cleared the ropes with ease in the 15th over to reach his 100 off 47 balls* and secure the points for Kolkata.
