Akash Ambani Says Jio Listing Is a New Beginning
Jio Platforms Managing Director Akash Ambani has described the company’s stock market listing as “a new beginning” rather than a destination, urging employees to focus on empowering every Indian through artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced digital technologies.
In an email to employees on Wednesday, Akash Ambani said Jio Platforms must lead the next wave of technological transformation, making cutting-edge technologies affordable, accessible and meaningful for every Indian.
The message came as Jio Platforms Limited (JPL), backed by Reliance Industries, made its debut on the Indian stock exchanges. The company’s shares surged around 21 per cent above the issue price of ₹1,119, marking a strong market debut and making Jio Platforms the second most valuable domestic company by market capitalisation.
Akash Ambani Outlines Jio’s Next Phase of Growth
Highlighting the significance of the listing, Akash Ambani said the milestone brings greater responsibility, higher expectations and a bigger opportunity to shape India’s digital future. He added that Jio’s mission to connect every unconnected Indian remains unchanged.
He described the occasion as a historic moment for the Reliance family, noting that Jio had grown from a bold vision into one of India’s most consequential enterprises in just a decade.
Crediting Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s vision, he highlighted the group’s philosophy of dreaming big, thinking long-term and executing with excellence.
AI and Digital Transformation at the Centre of Jio’s Vision
Akash Ambani said Jio’s next decade must focus on helping every Indian realise their full potential in the age of artificial intelligence.
He outlined the company’s evolution from connectivity and digital services towards cloud computing and AI, stressing the importance of bringing advanced technologies within the reach of ordinary citizens.
According to him, Jio has transformed how India connects, communicates, learns and works by making data affordable and bringing millions of people into the digital mainstream.
“We did not simply build a telecom network. We helped build the digital backbone of a new India,” he said.
