China has surged beyond the 160-gold-medal mark, building an imposing advantage through strong performances across gymnastics, table tennis, diving and shooting. With numerous events still remaining, Chinaβs commanding lead has effectively secured its position at the top of the overall medal table.
Japan, competing on home soil, remains firmly in second place. The host nation has collected key victories in disciplines including judo, skateboarding and track cycling, strengthening its position as the Games approach the closing stages.
South Korea continues to occupy third place, with its medal haul boosted by performances in traditional strengths such as archery and fencing, alongside success in esports.
The battle further down the standings remains closely contested. Uzbekistan, India, Iran and Thailand are involved in a late-competition fight for valuable positions in the top five as athletes compete for the remaining medals across athletics, combat sports and team events.
With dozens of gold medals still available, the final days of the Asian Games could bring further changes to the middle and lower sections of the leaderboard, even as China maintains a substantial advantage at the summit.
