Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday described his swearing-in as Assam Chief Minister for a second consecutive term as an “extremely emotional moment” and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP leadership, and party workers for the NDA’s historic victory in the state.

Sharing a heartfelt message on social media after taking oath, Sarma said the achievement would not have been possible without the “margdarshan” and leadership of Prime Minister Modi, whose vision and guidance inspired the government’s path of “Sewa and Samarpan.”

The Assam Chief Minister also thanked BJP National President Nitin Nabin for galvanising NDA karyakartas across Assam and taking the message of governance to every household in the state.
Sarma further acknowledged the role of Amit Shah, stating that the Union Home Minister stood “like a rock” in Assam’s journey towards peace, prosperity, and fulfilling promises made to the people.
He also extended gratitude to BJP and NDA workers across Assam for their efforts in securing the electoral victory.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment to development, Sarma said the administration would continue working relentlessly to realise the dream of a “Viksit Assam.”
