India’s Golden Day at Asian Games 2026: Four Golds and Record-Breaking Performances
India produced a spectacular medal-winning performance at the 2026 Asian Games as Team India secured four gold medals on Day 11, powered by a remarkable clean sweep in compound archery and another gold in shooting.
The biggest success came in compound archery, where India captured gold in the men’s team, women’s team and mixed team events. The women’s trio of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Taniparthi Chikitha and Prithika Pradeep defeated China 238-234, equalling the world record in the process.

In the men’s compound team final, Kushal Dalal, Sahil Rajesh Jadhav and Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru edged China 238-237 in a thrilling one-point contest to complete India’s archery gold rush.
The compound mixed team final delivered another dramatic finish. Sahil Jadhav and Taniparthi Chikitha defeated South Korea in a shoot-off after the regulation contest ended level. The victory also secured India’s first quota for the compound mixed team event at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, where the discipline is set to make its Olympic debut.
Shooting added another golden moment as Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai won the trap mixed team gold with a score of 34. Their performance surpassed the previous Asian record of 30, giving India another continental record to celebrate.

The four gold medals added to India’s growing medal tally and highlighted the country’s strength across archery and shooting. Boxing and wrestling also contributed podium finishes, while Indian athletes continued to remain in medal contention across hockey, squash, tennis, cycling, golf, canoe slalom, sport climbing, sepaktakraw and esports.
