Deepika Padukone’s Gehraiyaan became available on Amazon Prime Video. The film, which also stars Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Dhairya Karwa, Naseeruddin Shah, and Rajat Kapoor, received mixed reviews upon its release. Kangana Ranaut has supposedly also shared her opinion on the film. Kangana dubbed the Shakun Batra-directed film “crap” in a mysterious Instagram storey post.
“I am also a millennial, yet I empathise with and understand this type of romanticism,” she added. Please don’t sell crap in the guise of millennial/new age/urban cinema… Awful movies are just that: bad. There is no amount of flesh show or pornography that can salvage it… It is a well-known fact that “koi gehraiyaan wali baat nahi hai” (sic).
Kangana also uploaded a short snippet of a song from Himalay Ki God Mein (1965). Manoj Kumar, Mala Sinha, and Shashikala appeared in the film, which had a love triangle like Gehraiyaan.
During the press conference for her OTT reality programme Lock Upp, the Thailaivii actress slammed a journalist who asked her about the issue in which a social media influencer remarked on Deepika and Ananya’s outfits.
In response, Kangana stated that she did not wish to promote Padukone’s film and stated curtly, “Look, I am here to protect people who cannot defend themselves.” Alright? She has the privilege and the forum to defend herself, and I am unable to promote her film here. “Take a seat!”
Ranaut, who was most recently seen in Thalaivii, will host Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming programme, Lock Upp. Tejas and Dhaakad are also in her kitty.
