The meeting builds on Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Malaysia in February 2026, with both leaders taking stock of developments in the India-Malaysia partnership.

The discussions covered a wide range of areas, including trade and investment, defence and security, semiconductors, infrastructure, digital economy, energy, fintech, education and tourism.

The leaders also highlighted the importance of strengthening people-to-people ties and expanding cooperation in emerging and strategic sectors.

Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim further exchanged views on key regional and global issues of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to closer cooperation.
