Speaking in Hague, Goyal underlined the opportunities India offers international businesses seeking to expand their operations and reach a rapidly growing market. He said India's scale could enable companies to achieve growth beyond what they might have previously imagined.
Dutch Technology and Indian Market Scale
Goyal described the combination of India's economic scale and the Netherlands' technological capabilities as a powerful opportunity for business growth.
“That scale of opportunity combined with the quality of technology that the Netherlands offers is a heavy cocktail,” he said.
His remarks highlighted the potential for India and the Netherlands to deepen economic engagement by combining India's large domestic market and expanding industrial base with Dutch expertise in advanced technology and innovation.
Such cooperation could create opportunities across manufacturing, infrastructure, consumer goods and other technology-driven sectors.
India Investing $130 Billion Annually in Infrastructure
Goyal also drew attention to India's infrastructure development programme, pointing to the substantial public investment being made to strengthen the country's economic foundations.
“Given the huge effort back home in terms of creating new infrastructure, we invest $130 billion at the government level to create new infrastructure every year,” he said.
The minister's remarks highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in supporting economic growth, improving connectivity and creating an environment conducive to domestic and international investment.
Strengthening India-Netherlands Economic Cooperation
Goyal's message in The Hague emphasised India's ambition to attract global businesses by combining market scale, infrastructure development and opportunities for technological collaboration.
For Dutch businesses, India's expanding consumer market and infrastructure requirements present potential avenues for investment and commercial partnerships. For India, cooperation with the Netherlands can support access to advanced technologies, innovation and industrial expertise.
The minister's remarks reinforced the importance of strengthening economic engagement between the two countries and encouraging businesses to explore opportunities in one of the world's major growth markets.
