Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre addressed the India–Norway Business & Research Summit in Oslo, bringing together prominent business leaders and stakeholders from both nations to strengthen bilateral cooperation and explore future growth opportunities.
Addressing the summit, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the strong and longstanding foundation of India-Norway relations, particularly across strategic sectors such as food, fuel, and fertilizers. He emphasized that the relationship between the two countries has evolved into a dynamic partnership with significant opportunities for expansion.
The Prime Minister underlined the vast scope for enhancing trade, investment, technology, and talent partnerships following the implementation of the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA). He pointed to the ambitious commitment of approximately USD 100 billion in investments over the next 15 years, which is expected to significantly contribute to India’s economic growth and development trajectory.
Highlighting the importance of industrial cooperation and emerging technologies, PM Modi stressed that deeper engagement between India and Norway could unlock new avenues in innovation, clean energy, research, digital transformation, and advanced industries.
He further stated that stronger India–Norway collaboration would not only create sustainable economic opportunities but would also benefit the people of both countries, particularly the youth, through innovation-driven growth, skill development, and future-ready partnerships.
The summit reinforced the shared vision of India and Norway to deepen economic ties and strengthen cooperation in areas that support long-term growth and global competitiveness.
